The boat club is, by a considerable margin, the largest and most popular sporting society at the college — and possibly the largest in the whole university. Over 90% of people who join have never rowed before, so we have one of the best setups in the country for coaching beginners. It's also the only chance most people get to take up the sport completely for free.
Cambridge University Boat Club is one of the most successful in the world, competing against Oxford each year in the world-famous Boat Race; its rowers regularly go on to U23 and Olympic level. Jesus is the most successful college on the river, and almost every year has multiple rowers in the university squads — the previous two Women's Presidents were both Jesus members.
